My Thoughts on the Canon RF 50mm F1.2L USM Lens

Updated: Jul 3, 2020
I have been using Canon EOS R for about a year now, so far I really like the RF lenses from Canon. RF 50mm F1.2 L probably sparks most joy in me when I am shooting portraits.

Here are couple reasons I love this lens:
Versatile - This lens can be used at close up as well as full body. Especially for me recently, I have been shooting a lot more full body style fashion portraits for Shein. At 50mm and F1.2, the full body portrait has the right among of the bokeh and backlight blur. (See images below)

Sharp at wide open - The sharpness of this RF lens is very good. I shoot wide open all the time for my portraits and the images are turning out very sharp at 1.2 aperture.

Creamy Backlight - One of the other elements in my portraits is backlight. I shoot a lot of backlight portraits and this lens suits my need for the backlight and perfect flare as what I want.
